Skyworks has made over 165 episodes of 'World from Above' over the last 13 years. These programmes were originally filmed entirely from helicopters, but we now use drones, sometimes combined with helicopter footage.

Continents

Our filming spans 6 continents; we have not (so far) filmed in Antarctica. As well as filming in a large number of countries, we pride ourselves on the depth and detail of our coverage. We are telling stories from the sky.

The 'World from Above' has been shown in over 75 territories around the world, on both broadcast TV and streaming services. It has been broadcast on global channels like Discovery as well as national broadcasters.

Who Doesn't Want A Window Seat?

The 'World from Above' showcases our planet from a completely new perspective. Each episode is an aerial-only journey, taking us through fascinating aspects of our landscape, history and culture, all seen with our bird's eye view. This unusual perspective is loved by our audiences, and we have developed special techniques and equipment to bring aerial filming to a new level. The show is made by Skyworks Ltd, a UK-based independent production company, working with a wide network of experts worldwide. We film and produce our own shows, with facilities based in the UK, as well as using specialised production personnel in different countries. We now have a team spread around the world to help us capture more of the outstanding footage that has made this series so successful.

The World from Above also gives an insight into the lives of others. We are shaped by our geography as well as our history, and in World from Above, we aim to show some of the human side of far-away places - from funeral pyres in Kathmandu to football in Madagascar.
